He married on 8 February 1857, Marble Rock, Iowa to Ann Mariah Rex daughter of (Rudolph and Mary Ann (Asper) Rex) was born on 9 March 1839, Manchester, Adams County, Ohio; she died 6 November 1914 and buried at Westside Cemetery, Union Township, Marble Rock, Floyd County, Iowa.
