John W. Turner, Jr.

This web page is dedicated in memory and honor to our beloved brother John W. Turner, Jr. of Gladstone, Missouri.

It is with sincere sadness to inform our members the loss of our REAL SON, John W. Turner, Jr. While Brother Turner was not with our Camp for a long time, we acknowledge the honor he bestowed upon us by becoming a member of the SUVCW, and joining Westport Camp #64.

John W. Turner, Jr. was a REAL SON of a Civil War Veteran and was inducted into Westport Camp #64 on 10 May 2003. John's ancestor was his father, John W. Turner of the 133rd Indiana Infantry, who mustered into federal service on 3 May 1864, as a private in Company B, 133rd Indiana Infantry.

John W. Turner, Jr., REAL SON, and valued brother of Westport Camp # 64, passed away on 31 December 2003. John W. Turner, Jr. was born 9 July 1914, in Kansas City, Kansas. He died in Gladstone, Mo., at the age of 89 years old. John's funeral was held on Saturday, 3 January 2004, at 11:00 AM, at Floral Hills Cemetery, at Gregory and Blue Ridge Blvd.
